The Renzo Piano Archive is opening its doors to tell the story of “What Is Not There,” taking part in the 2026 edition of Archivissima.

In collaboration with the Historical Archives of the Politecnico di Milano, the theme of absence has been explored thorough the materials of our archives, and in Genoa specifically it will focus on Renzo Piano’s “Evolutive Housing” project.

This project was presented in the competition for the reconstruction of Friuli after the 1976 earthquake. However, it was never realized and developed in unexpected ways.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday, June 5 at 5:30 PM at Villa Nave to discover this project “that is not there,” with Prof. Carlo Nozza from the University of Mendrisio and Lia Piano, Director of the Renzo Piano Foundation and representative of the Renzo Piano Project in Genoa.
