P&C Department Store

P&C Department Store

The building, housed in the Peek & Cloppenburg store, is located in the city center. It is located along the Schildergasse, the main shopping street in the city, with a flow of 13,000 passers per day. The greatest constraint was the presence of the church of St. Antoniter, which led to the design of a building of predominantly horizontal development and very similar to a greenhouse. The area that opens in front of the entrance and looks at the church makes it a real square: a stopover for tourists and shopping mall customers. The structure of the building is made up of curved arc-shaped "bandages" connected by a steel structure at a height of almost 28m, which takes shape from the study of load distribution and material expansion.
