THROUGH THE HISTORY.
THE ARCHITECTURE OF
RENZO PIANO AND
THE BUILDING WORKSHOP
Recounting a building means telling a story. Each project is a unique and unrepeatable adventure made up of places and people, challenges and discoveries, unexpected and surprising relations and connections.
Through these stories, the Foundation follows the thread running through all Renzo Piano and the Building Workshop’s architecture. The stories begin with the earliest experimental projects and lead on to the major construction projects of recent years, only seemingly remote from each other. Themes, paths of research and study such as the urban environment and its changes, the relations between nature and technology, and the fragility of the earth are just some of the topics entwined in the work of Renzo Piano and his studies.
